Idaho Stampede News Release

DENVER - The Idaho Stampede picked up its first victory of the season with a 110-109 road win over the Colorado 14ers on Saturday night. Idaho improves to 1-1 on the year, while Colorado falls to 1-1 after the loss.

The 2006-2007 NBA Development League Most Valuable Player Randy Livingston made his season debut for the Stampede with 11 points and 20 assists in leading Idaho to the win. Corey Violette and Ernest Scott benefitted from Livingston's return to action, combining for 45 points on the night as the Stampede shot 54.7% from the field.

"These are always good games to win," said Stampede Head Coach Bryan Gates. "I'm just glad to get out of here with a win. We're going to get out of here and hopefully not come back."

After playing seven head-to-head games down to the wire last season, Idaho and Colorado came down to the final possession again in the two teams first meeting this year. Livingston gave Idaho the lead with a five foot turnaround jumper at the 1:23 mark of the fourth quarter, and the Idaho defense held on the rest of the way. Colorado's final chance saw Lou White miss an 18-foot jumper and Julian Sensley's buzzer-beating attempt fall short from 16 feet as time expired.

Sensley led all scorers with 28 points on 12 of 17 shooting for Colorado. Terrence Crawford added 18 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and five steals off the bench for the 14ers in the loss.

Idaho closes out a three game season opening road trip at Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon when they take on the D-Fenders. Colorado will play its next seven games on the road, starting Wednesday night in Des Moines against the Iowa Energy.
