BOISE, ID Jan. 6, 2010 - In his first NBA game tonight for the Utah Jazz, former Idaho Stampede point guard Sundiata Gaines, who was called-up yesterday, played 21 minutes, scored three points and dished out five assists. In their first game without him, his Idaho teammates had a good night as well.

Milton Ambres scored 22 points and Anthony Tolliver and Donell Taylor added 19 each, as the Stampede (10-6) stayed within striking distance early, then went on to post a 105-100 win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

It was the second win for Idaho in this year's NBA D-League Showcase, having defeated Springfield, 111-88 on Monday.

"I thought we had some guys give us a great boost off the bench tonight," said Stampede coach Bob MacKinnon. "We have good players one through nine right now, and everyone one of them is going to play, so it's up to them to be ready to give us positive minutes."

Ron Howard led Fort Wayne (6-9) with 23 points. Rob Kurz, who spent the majority of last season with the Golden State Warriors, added 21 points

Fort Wayne takes on Utah tomorrow in the final game of the Showcase. Idaho hosts Austin this Friday.
