Rio Grande Valley's Anderson Named Player Of The Month

NEW YORK, Jan. 7, 2010 - Antonio Anderson of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers has been named NBA Development League Player of the Month for games played in December, 2009. Anderson is the first player of the season to earn the monthly honor, and was named NBA D-League Player of the Week on Jan. 4.
In 10 games for the Vipers, the 6-6 guard averaged 18.1 points, 7.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds, while shooting 49 percent (64-of-131) from the field and leading Rio Grande Valley to an 8-2 record. During the Month, Anderson scored in double figures on nine occasions, notching two double-doubles. He scored a season-high 28 points in a Dec. 8, 2009 road victory over the Austin Toros.
Also receiving consideration for NBA D-League Player of the Month for December honors were Idaho's Sundiata Gaines, currently with the Utah Jazz; Austin's Alonzo Gee; Utah's Dontell Jefferson; Tulsa's Mustafa Shakur; Iowa's Curtis Stinson; and Sioux Falls' Reggie Williams.
