Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (4/6/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Saturday morning that the Idaho Steelheads have added forward Andrew Carroll and defenseman Gord Baldwin to the team's playoff roster in time for Game 3 of its playoff series against the Colorado Eagles.
Carroll (Connecticut Whale) and Baldwin (Texas Stars) were each signed to American Hockey League contracts after opening the season on ECHL-level contracts with the Steelheads. Thus, the duo has been assigned to Idaho by the AHL teams and both are expected to be in the lineup against the Eagles Saturday night.
Both players began the season with Idaho. Carroll produced nearly a point per game (31 points in 36 games) prior to being called up in January. Baldwin had 14 points and a plus-11 rating for the Steelheads before he was summoned to Texas. Baldwin played 29 games with Idaho prior to his recall while Carroll skated in 36 contests.
The addition of Carroll and Baldwin gives Ralph 22 players on his playoff roster. The limit is 23, giving the team one open spot for a possible future addition from the AHL level.
Idaho and Colorado meet in Game 3 of the best-of-seven ECHL Kelly Cup playoff series, presented by KeyBank, Saturday night at 7 PM at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, CO. The series is tied at one win apiece with games 4 and 5 also slated for 7 PM start times on Sunday and Tuesday.
