TONIGHT:

The Ontario Reign continue Round One against the Utah Grizzlies with Game 4 tonight. This is Ontario's third playoff appearance in five years of existence; Utah's seventh in an eight year existence.

On Friday, Ontario went into their first overtime frame of the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Reign came from behind tying the game with 30 seconds remaining in regulation. Going off the momentum from the late equalizer, the Reign were able to capitalize within 5 minutes of the extra period to win the game 2-1. These two teams are no strangers to overtime as three of their five contests through the 2012-13 season were decided in either overtime or a shootout. The Reign were 2-0-0-1 against the Grizzlies in overtime. During the 2012-13 season, the Reign came out ahead of the Grizzlies with a 3-1-0-1 record against the Western Conference club.

HOW THEY RANK:

By the end of 2012-13 Ontario had earned their 3rd Division Title, ranked 2nd in the Western Conference, and 2nd overall in the league with a club-high 99 points. The Grizzlies finished 4th in the Mountain Division, 7th in the Western Conference, and 18th overall.

BETWEEN THE PIPES:

JF Berube has started and closed all three games so far this playoff season. With an impressive goals-against average of 1.63 Berube has been at the top of his game in the post-season; with a killer glove that has stopped the Grizzlies several times. He has a save percentage of 0.926, a personal best for the Repentigny native. In 24 regular season games Berube had 1 shutout and saw time in the AHL with the Manchester Monarchs.

GOING THE DISTANCE:

Coach Christie is hoping to break the Reign's First Round curse by getting his team through to the next round of the playoffs for the first time in Reign history. One more win will send the team through to face either the Idaho Steelheads or the Colorado Eagles were are currently tied 1-1 in their series.
