KELLY CUP EASTERN CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS - GAME 3

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Not even 20 hours after closing out a thrilling 2-1 double-OT win last night, the Cyclones and Walleye are back on the ice to skate in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. It was the seventh time in club history that the Cyclones won a playoff game in the extra session.

SCOUTING THE WALLEYE: Nick Vitucci's club finished right behind the Cyclones in the North Division standings with a final record of 37-26-5-4 - good for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Willie Coetzee was Toledo's leader in scoring during the regular season with 68 points (28 goals, 40 assists) in 64 games. Their captain Kyle Rogers finished second on the team with 46 tallies (15 goals, 31 assists) in 72 games - the only Walleye player to skate in all of the team's regular season contests. Rogers was tied for the lead in offense versus Cincinnati, notching six points in the eight meetings. However, neither were able to find the scoresheet in Game 1 as Trevor Parkes was the lone Walleye player to score. Like most playoff teams, Toledo enjoyed great goaltending during the regular year. Kent Simpson was the leading net minder, amassing a 20-14-2-3 record and 2.36 goals-against average. He was 3-2-0 with a 2.00 GAA versus the Cyclones. Simpson made 36 saves in last night's series opener. Jordan Pearce, meanwhile, was 15-11-2-1 with a 2.76 GAA during his 2012-13 work and earned a 1-1-1 mark against Cincinnati.

Win the 1st: The Clones were especially deadly when leading after 20 minutes this season - going 25-5 in such situations. The winning percentage has been even better during postseason play over the years, going 22-2 since the 2007 playoffs.

Defensive Gems: Finding the net could prove difficult for both teams in this series, much like it was last night. The Walleye and Cyclones finished the regular season allowing an identical average of 2.71 goals-per-game - the seventh best mark in the ECHL.
