(Boise, ID) - Idaho Steelheads head coach Derek Laxdal has added another arrow to his quiver for the 2009-2010 season, announcing that forward Ashton Rome has agreed to terms with the team.

The 23-year-old Rome tallied 44 points (25 goals, 19 assists) in 52 games with the Phoenix Roadrunners last season. He has also played 134 games in the American Hockey League with the Worcester Sharks and Toronto Marlies over the past three seasons.

"Ashton is a player who has experience in the ECHL and the AHL," Laxdal said. "Plus, he's a proven scorer. He's a talented, talented player that we expect a lot from."

Rome is a two-time NHL draft pick. He was selected in the 4th round of the 2004 draft by the Boston Bruins and in the 5th round of the 2006 draft by the San Jose Sharks.

The addition of Rome gives Idaho three players on the training camp roster - Marty Flichel and Mark Derlago being the other two - who have scored at least 25 goals in a season in the ECHL. A fourth, Greg Rallo, has 32 tallies in 83 career ECHL contests.

Season-ticket packages for the 2009-2010 season remain available, starting as low as $450 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season ticket packages are available for as little as $150. New this season is the all-inclusive "Gold Membership." Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or visit www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
