Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced the 8th Annual Open House & Family Day will take place at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center, located at 1325 Q Street, on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 2-5 p.m.
With Training Camp underway, this will be the first chance to watch your 2009-10 Condors take to the ice for a scrimmage. Following that, fans can meet the players and hit the ice for a skate with the team. Also on hand at the event will be the inflatable slapshot, located just outside the Ice Sports Center.
The Condors will be on the ice from 2-3:30 p.m., and will be followed by the public skate, from 4-5 p.m. at the Ice Sports Center, located just south of Rabobank Arena. Bring your own skates to the event or rent skates for $3. A limited number of rentals are available.
Season ticket holders, this is your opportunity to pick up your tickets, along with your season ticket holder gift if you paid in full or signed up for AutoPay by the deadline! Kids Club members can also pick up their packets at the Open House. For more information about the Condors Kids Club, visit CondorsKids.com or call the office at 324-PUCK (7825).
The annual event is open to the public, and free for anyone who brings two non-perishable food items. All the food collected will be donated to the Kern County Food Bank. Nearly 18,000 pounds of food have been collected through the previous seven years of the Open House.
"The Annual Open House & Family Day marks the unofficial start of the 2009-10 Condors season," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "It's a great opportunity for both the players and fans to meet each other, especially this season with the number of new faces on the team."
Free parking is located in the Ice Sports Center parking lot.
