March 15, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVILLE, IN.--- Set to embark on the final two weeks and six games of the 66-games Central Hockey League's 2011-12 regular season schedule, the Evansville IceMen have announced their second major late season player signing in the span of one week.

Striving to solidify the CHL Turner Conference regular season crown and with it home ice advantage through the initial two rounds of the Ray Miron President's Cup Playoffs, the IceMen have announced on this date the signing of six-year seasoned pro MAXIME BOISCLAIR to an Evansville contract for the remainder of the current campaign. Adhering to club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

BOISCLAIR (bwah-CLAIR), 27, is in his sixth pro season, having played the past two seasons, including the current campaign of 2011-12 in France with IC Epinal Les Dauphins where he has averaged well over a point a game for the past two seasons. This season, he collected 34-points in 26-games on 16-goals, 18-assists, 34-points with 22-PIM. The 6-2, 209lb left wing sustained his point-making magic in his recently-concluded post-season in France by registering 8-points in 5-games on 3-goals, 5-assists before adding 10-more points in 6-appearances during the French Cup Tournament. One year previously, in 2010-11, the Port-Au-Prince, Haiti product engineered 31-points in 26-games with 15-goals, 16-assists and 74-PIM. He was 6(5-3-8) in the playoffs.

Having plied his pro craft predominantly in the ECHL and LNAH in Quebec, Boisclair arrived on the pro scene with the revered reputation of a high-tech, high-octane goal-scoring colossus. In his latter two years of major junior `A' in the QMJHL with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens his goal-cannonading was unprece-dented and unparalleled. In the 2005-06 season, he fired a league-high 70-goals in 70-games and 130-points to attain Second All-Star Team status. One season earlier, in 2004-05, Evansville's newest acquisition uncorked 51-snipes and 108-points in 70-games. His combined totals of 121-goals were the most produced in the league during that two-year time period.

The IceMen General Manager/Head Coach Rich Kromm is delighted to have Boisclair with his team for the remainder of this season. "We are looking for Max to bring some significant attributes into our lineup for the rest of the season. He will inject some outstanding size and strong ability to score into our lineup for the stretch drive and beyond. He is a former 70-goal All-Star performer in major junior `A' and has averaged over a point a game throughout his pro career in both North America as well as in France. We are looking forward to having him join our lineup."

Following his extraordinary major junior `A' career, Boislair became his team's top marksmen and point-producing purveyor in 2006-07 in the ECHL with the Johnstown Chiefs; 59(17-34-51) and later in the LNAH with St. Hyacinthe in 2007-08; 47(29-53-82). In addition, Boisclair has seen action in the AHL with Syracuse, Springfield and Hershey as well as in the ECHL with Charlotte and Ontario.

Boisclair will wear jersey #44 and make his IceMen debut this weekend when the IceMen look to take another giant step forward in cementing their hold on first place in the Turner Conference standings with the conclusion of five consecutive games on the road through a two-game series at Rapid City against the surging third place Rush.

Game time both Friday and Saturday nights is set for 8:00 pm CDT with broadcast time both nights on WEOA-AM 1400, 1400amweoa.com and the IceMen Radio Network, WMSK-AM 1550, Morganfield, KY and WITZ-AM 990 and WITZ-FM 104.7, Jasper, IN, 7:30 pm.
