Sir-Sting-A-Lot Wins Fourth Best of Best Mascot Award

The Central Hockey League announced their fifty Best of the Best awards for the 2012 season with the Killer Bees placing in six different categories and capturing the Best Mascot Award for the fourth straight season.

Sir-Sting-A-Lot captured three first place votes along with a second place vote to capture the Best Mascot award, his fourth straight title in that category.

On the ice, Aaron Boogaard placed second in the Best Fighter (Heavyweight) category receiving three first place votes along with two second place and four third place votes for 25 points, only four points behind Erik Lizon from Wichita.

Killer Bees captain Aaron Lee finished third in the Best Leader category with two first place votes and one third place vote for 11 points. Lee finished behind Colin Chaulk from Fort Wayne and Todd Robinson from Evansville. Lee also took home a third place finish in Best Penalty Killer behind Brian Bicek from Evansville and Brett Smith from Fort Wayne.

In off the ice categories the Bees finished third for the Best Logo including capturing a pair of first place votes and finished second in Best Use of Social Media regarding the twitter (@RGVKillerBees) and facebook (facebook.com/RGVKillerBees) pages.

The Killer Bees are in Dayton for a Friday night game against the Dayton Gems. Puck drops at 6:00 p.m. and fans can follow the game on 956sports.com and killerbeehockey.com.
