November 30, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - The month of December is jam packed with hockey at the BMO Harris Bank Center as the Rockford IceHogs will play eight of their next 14 games on home ice. And the IceHogs are in the holiday giving spirit, making sure fans don't leave the arena empty handed.
Highlighting the promotions schedule for the month of December is an IceHogs glass and pitcher series courtesy of Applebees.
Beginning this Friday, Dec. 2, the first 1,500 fans 21-and-older will get a voucher for the first IceHogs pint glass in the three-piece collector's series. The vouchers can be redeemed at either of the two Rockford area Applebee's locations for the pint glass, no purchase necessary.
The other pint glass will be handed out on Friday, Dec. 9 as the IceHogs host the Chicago Wolves. A glass pitcher, completing the set, is slated for Dec. 16 as the IceHogs have an Illinois Lottery cup matchup with Peoria.
This weekend includes the IceHogs annual Teddy Bear Toss game on Saturday when the IceHogs face off against the Abbotsford Heat at 7:05 p.m. Fans are invited to bring a new stuffed animal to the game and throw them onto the ice after the IceHogs score their first goal. The furry friends will be collected and donated to several local charities and hospitals to brighten the holidays for local children.
All fans that bring a stuffed animal to the game on Saturday can enter to win a pair of round trip airline tickets on Frontier Airlines to Denver, Col. courtesy of the Chicago-Rockford International Airport.
December also features the first of three bobbleheads to be given away at the BMO Harris Bank Center throughout the season. The first 2,500 fans into the building on Dec. 17 will receive a Rob Klinkhammer bobblehead thanks to U.S. Cellular when the Milwaukee Admirals visit Rockford at 7:05 p.m.
On Friday, Dec. 9, not only can fans pick up the second IceHogs glass in the three piece set, but Cylinder 6 will also be performing before the game and during each intermission.
The IceHogs close out the year on December 30 by giving the first 1,000 kids (age 14 and under) a youth jersey courtesy of Rockford Orthopedic as the IceHogs take on the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m.
