Wolves Defenseman to Visit Local Libraries

November 30, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The "Read to Succeed" program teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources that libraries have to offer. FRIESEN will speak about the benefits of reading outside the classroom and discuss how it plays an important part in his life as a professional athlete.

Children can win prizes including Wolves hats, pennants and tickets to upcoming games for setting and achieving reading goals. The players will also dress one lucky child in hockey equipment, as well as raffle Wolves prizes and sign autographs.

Throughout the season, more than 17,000 children will participate in the program, with Wolves players making appearances at select libraries throughout the Chicagoland area. More than 600,000 children and 105 libraries have participated in "Read to Succeed" since the program's initiation in 1995.
