Michael G. Myers Promoted to Senior Director of Business and Community Development

WORCESTER, MA - Worcester Sharks president Michael A. Mudd has announced the promotion of Michael G. Myers to Senior Director of Business & Community Development.

One of the original members of the Worcester Sharks front office in 2006, Myers will be responsible for overseeing the Sharks corporate sales, community relations, and merchandise departments.

"Mike has been cultivating the Sharks brand throughout central Massachusetts since Day 1," said Mudd. "An essential part of business development is knowing your market inside and out, and there is no one better suited in the Worcester area than Mike Myers. He has been a second face for this franchise as a community leader and we look forward to him succeeding under his new capacity of Senior Director of Business & Community Development."

Myers, a graduate of Assumption College, and a resident of Worcester for over 10 years, has hosted or attended over 1,200 community events throughout central Massachusetts since 2006. Michael currently sits on the advisory board for the Rainbow Child Development Center and oversees several Worcester Sharks community programs including; FINZ Fit Kidz, Reading is Cool, and Summer Days.

In May 2009, Myers received the Thomas Jefferson Award from Worcester Public Schools for his community outreach at the Clark Street Developmental Learning School.

Prior to coming on board with the Sharks he owned and operated Myers Mask Design and was a standout hockey and lacrosse player at Assumption College from 1989-1993. The four-year letterman received hockey's specialty award in 1990 and most improved player honors in 1993. Myers attended training camp for the Hampton Roads Admirals (ECHL) in 1993 and South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL) in 1994.

The Assumption graduate returned to his alma mater, serving as the Greyhounds' assistant hockey coach from 1999 through 2005. He is currently a board member and coach for the Worcester Junior Sharks organization, as well as, provides goalie instruction to various youth hockey organizations.

Michael presently resides in Worcester with his wife Ann and three sons: Matthew, Damon, and John.
