IceGators Eliminate RiverBlades

Martin Bartek had a goal and an assist, and Kyle Kettles made 30 saves to lead the Louisiana IceGators to a 3-1 victory over the Arkansas RiverBlades, and sweeping the best-of-five series 3 games to 0.

Andrew Proskurnicki opened up the scoring at 9:49 of the first period with his 2nd of the playoffs from Martin Bartek and Rod Sarich.

Then, at 15:46, Nathan Rempel got his 3rd of the playoffs assisted by Kenny Corupe and Cal Benazic.

Arkansas cut the lead in half at 1:27 of the third, with a power-play goal by Garry Toor. Terry Marchant and Mike Cirillo assisted on the play.

But, at the 5:49 mark, Louisiana iced it for good, as Martin Bartek got his 1st of the playoffs on the power-play from Shawn McNeil and Kevin Mitchell.

Scott Fankhouser made 27 saves in goal for Arkansas, and the RiverBlades were 1-for-5 on the power-play. Louisiana was 1-for-6.

For the game, Arkansas outshot Louisiana 31-30. Louisiana advances to meet the winner of the Mississippi/Pensacola series in the Southwest Division Finals.
