WORCESTER, MA – St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau announced today that St. Louis has recalled defenseman Aris Brimanis from the Blues American Hockey League affiliate in Worcester.

Brimanis, 31, made his Blues debut on Oct. 18 versus Washington. In seven games played with the club, he registered two penalty minutes, a plus-one rating and averaged 12:40 of time-on-ice. The 6-2, 212-pound defenseman was reassigned to Worcester on Nov. 5. Brimanis has played in 14 games with the IceCats this season, recording five points (one goal, four assists) and eight penalty minutes. Last night, he scored the game-winning goal at 3:48 of overtime as Worcester defeated Springfield 3-2.

Brimanis skated in 38 games with Worcester last season, ranking first on the team with a plus-19 rating and was tied for first among team defensemen with eight goals. The Shaker Heights, Ohio native has appeared in 107 NHL contests, amassing 14 points (two goals, 12 assists) along with 55 penalty minutes. He was signed by St. Louis as a free agent on Aug. 9, 2002 and was originally Philadelphia's fourth round selection, 86th overall in the 1991 Entry Draft.

Also today, the Blues recalled forward Eric Boguniecki from the IceCats.

Boguniecki, 28, was reassigned to Worcester on Nov. 22 on a conditioning stint. He recorded one assist in two games played with the IceCats. The New Haven, Connecticut native will be placed on the injured reserve and continue to rehab his shoulder. He has missed all 20 games this season due to a shoulder injury suffered during training camp. Last season, the 5-8, 192-pound forward posted career highs in points (49), goals (22), assists (27) and penalty minutes (38). Boguniecki was originally St. Louis' sixth choice, 193rd overall in the 1993 Entry Draft.
