Bulldogs beat Amerks, set new home record

HAMILTON, ON - The Bulldogs enacted some revenge for last Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Amerks in Rochester, retaliating with a 3-1 victory of their own at Copps Coliseum this evening. The Hamilton Bulldogs record now stands at 14-8-1-1 on the season.

The 3-1 win was Hamilton's eighth consecutive home victory, setting a new franchise record.

Providing the firepower for the Bulldogs was Jozef Balej, netting his seventh along with Marcel Hossa with his first and Francois Beauchemin with his second. Tomas Plekanec notched two assists, while Ron Hainsey and Eric Fichaud picked up singles. As well, forward Duncan Milroy picked up his first professional point, an assist on Marcel Hossa's goal.

Bulldog backstopper Eric Fichaud turned aside 26 Amerks shots to pick up his 9th victory of the season. Amerks netminder Ryan Miller stopped 34 Bulldogs shots in the loss; his record falls to 7-5-4.

On special teams, the Bulldogs were 0-2 on the powerplay while stopping all four Amerks powerplays.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next home action will take place Friday, December 5th as the Bulldogs will play host to the Binghamton Senators at Copps Coliseum. Game time is 7:00pm.
