ICE Double up Swift Current 4-2

Winnipeg ICE goaltender Mason Beaupit made 31 saves to backstop his team to a 4-2 victory over the Swift Current Broncos Monday afternoon.

Beaupit stopped 12 shots in the opening period, eight in the 2nd and 11 in the third to improve his personal record to 11-3 since joining the ICE.

Owen Pederson scored twice while Zack Ostapchuk and Zach Benson rounded the attack. The victory improved Winnipeg's record to 44-7-1, now 11 points clear of Red Deer for first place in the Eastern Conference.

Luke Mistelbacher and Owen Pickering replied for the Broncos, who dropped to 25-25-1-2.

Swift Current out shot the ICE 33-27.

Winnipeg also won the special teams battle going 1/4 on the power play. The Broncos were 0/4 and gave up a shorthanded goal by Benson.

The ICE continue their road trip Wednesday in Calgary with a noon face off against the Hitmen.
