NEWS & NOTES:

Last Game: The Wheat Kings hot start led to a 3-1 victory over the Swift Current Broncos Saturday night. It was a game that saw hits, fights and special teams scoring on both sides. Calder Anderson & Nolan Ritchie led the way combining for 4 points. Nate Danielson earned 1st star after scoring the opening goal on the powerplay. Broncos forward Drew Englot scored a shorthanded goal in the 2nd, but Nolan Flamand 29 seconds later would restore the two-goal lead and the momentum for the Wheat Kings putting them back in the playoff hunt. Currently the Wheat Kings are sitting 2 points back from the 3 teams ahead of them in the WHL Eastern Conference Standings.

Feb 20th VS Raiders: The Wheat Kings & Raiders faceoff for the 4th time this season. Last game didn't go so well for the Wheat Kings losing 6-2 in Prince Albert. It was a game where the Wheat Kings had a home game on a Friday night and then had to board the bus early the next morning for the 7-hour trip to Northern Saskatchewan. The Raiders took advantage of a tired team scoring 3 goals in the opening 15 minutes of the game. Sloan Stanick led the way with a pair of goals earning 1st star. The Raiders also come into this game winners of 3 straight defeating the Broncos, Pats and Warriors last week. The Raiders are sitting in 11th place only 4 points back from the Wheat Kings in the Eastern Conference standings.

Who's Hot: Brett Hyland currently has 19 goals scored in his last 21 games. Forward Nate Danielson has been stellar as of late scoring 50 points in his last 34 games. Nolan Ritchie has 41 points in his last 32 games.
