Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that veteran defenseman Brian White has agreed to terms for the 2006-2007 season. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6' 1", 195-pound native of Winchester, MA played the last two seasons overseas with the Iserlohn Roosters (Germany) and the Tappara Tampere (Finland). White has played 420 games in the American Hockey League over six seasons with Providence, Cincinnati, and Hershey, scoring 13 goals, 53 assists, 69 points, and 269 penalty minutes.

Drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 11th round in the 1994 NHL Draft, White went on to play four seasons at the University of Maine. Brian made his professional debut in Long Beach, playing in one game with the Ice Dogs (IHL) in 1998. During his rookie season in Hershey, White was recalled to the NHL and played two games for the Colorado Avalanche. White has never played a game in the ECHL.

"White has an excellent history in professional hockey," said Managing Partner/Owner Steven Bash. "Brian will bring the experience and depth on defense the Dogs have been looking for. He will certainly help solidify our defensive core."

"Brian is going to be the back-bone for our defense bringing leadership and experience to our blue line," said Head Coach and General Manager Rick Adduono. "White has spent six years in the AHL and will be able to help our young defensemen. His numbers look deceiving, but Brian can play at both ends of the ice and will be seeing some power play time for the Ice Dogs this season."

"I am really excited to come back to where my professional career started," said White. "I play a defensive style brand of hockey, but I look forward to helping out offensively and have some fun on the power play."

Opening night is Friday, October 20th, versus the Idaho Steelheads at 7:30 PM. Season tickets for the 2006-07 season are on sale now, and can be secured by depositing just $100 per seat. Call (562) ICE-DOGS for visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
