Augusta Lynx News Release

Two more pieces of the Augusta Lynx puzzle were put into place today, as the team announced they have agreed to terms with forward Jon Landry and defenseman Matt McNeely for the 2006-07 season.

Up front, Landry adds his 6-3, 220 lb. frame to the lineup after four years at Bowdoin College. The 23-year-old Landry recorded 51 goals and 121 points in 98 games during his college career. He then turned pro with Augusta's American Hockey League affiliate the Portland Pirates upon completion of his senior season in 2006, suiting up for two games without a point and two minutes in penalties.

McNeely spent four seasons at R.P.I. before turning pro last year with the Lubbock Cotton Kings of the Central Hockey League. With the Cotton Kings, the 5-10, 195 lb. blueliner scored five goals and totaled 17 points with 89 minutes in penalties over 63 games. Also 23, the Almonte, Ontario native appeared in 118 NCAA contests with 12 goals and 32 points while with R.P.I.

"Jon is a proven college goal scorer who gained great experience in the AHL at the end of last season," said Lynx head coach and director of hockey operations Bob Ferguson. "McNeely is a steady defenseman who had a solid rookie season in Lubbock last year. He will definitely add depth to our defensive corps."

Augusta now has a total of 12 players heading to camp this October: defensemen Will Bodine, Phil Cole, Mathieu Wathier, Eric Lundberg, and McNeely; forwards Ryan Lang, Louis Goulet, Joe Pereira, Joe Cardarelli, Matt Radoslovich, and Landry; plus goaltender Brett Jaeger.

Full and partial season ticket plans are now on sale along with group and individual game tickets by calling the Lynx office at (706) 724-4ICE. Keep your browser pointed to www.augustalynx.com for all the latest on the Lynx!
