Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs were outgunned by the Bakersfield Condors, 8-4, Wednesday night at Long Beach Arena. The outcome snapped a two-game winning streak for Long Beach (19-40-4), and a two-game losing streak for the Condors (36-20-9).

Both teams traded a combined seven goals in the opening period—the most for Long Beach since the seven combined in the second period against the Idaho Steelheads on Feb. 7.

Ice Dogs' newly acquired Tyrel Frisky scored his first points as an Ice Dog, scoring the club's first two goals, including a short-handed goal for the game's first goal at 2:19. Christian Skoryna's four-point night started when he evened the game at 2:51. Frisky scored again at 7:18 with a power-play goal to re-gain the Ice Dogs' one-goal lead.

Ice Dogs' Tyler Willis gave the Ice Dogs a 3-2 lead at 12:14 in the first until Bakersfield's Jeff Goldie punched in a pair of goals within a 15-second span with 1:30 left in the period.

Jamie O'Leary scored his team-leading 18th goal and 55th point on a nifty backhand shot at 4:40 in the second period. The Condors scored twice in the second period and twice in the third, including an empty-netter by Paul Rosebush with one minute remaining in the game for the final 8-4 tally. Bakersfield's Skoryna, in addition to his first goal, assisted on one goal in each of the periods.

Long Beach travels to face the first-place Steelheads for a two-game set before hosting the Fresno Falcons on Friday, Mar. 28.
