
Condors host two games this weekend

Bakersfield, Calif. â The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League, fighting for second place and home ice advantage in the opening round of the Taylor Cup Playoffs, host two pivotal games at Centennial Garden this weekend. The San Diego Gulls are in town on Friday night and the Anchorage Aces on Saturday. Both games begin at 7:00pm.
The Condors trail the Gulls by three points in the standings, and Friday's meeting is the final one of the regular season between the two clubs. The crowd will be entertained by the canine acrobatics of Skyy Dogs USA, sponsored by Time Warner Cable and Radio Disney. Friday's game will also be carried live on Time Warner Cable Ch 21, and replayed on Saturday morning at 10:00am.
It's also a Time Warner Cable Family Night. All subscribers can purchase tickets for just $5 apiece by presenting the coupon that was included with their last bill. Friday's game is the final Colonel Claw'd's Kids Club game of the season as well, whose membership includes free terrace level admission for kids club games.
Friday's game is Season Ticket Referral Night as well, as all season ticket holders received complimentary rinkside or executive tickets to be used to recruit additional season ticket holders. A special guest will be attendance as well, with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Driver Tina Gordon in attendance to drop a ceremonial first puck and sign autographs. Her #31 truck will be on display on the plaza before the game and she will sign autographs during that time.
On Saturday night, the legendary Famous Chicken comes back to Bakersfield to entertain the crowd during the Condors match against the Anchorage Aces. Game time is 7:00pm. The Chicken appears courtesy of KGET-TV 17, K-Lite 105.3 and Bill Wright Toyota. Three of the top eight crowds in team history have been nights when the Chicken came to town.
On Monday night, from 6:00-9:00pm, the Condors will host their fourth annual Tip-A-Condor dinner at the Buck Owens Crystal Palace Steakhouse at 3223 Sillect Avenue, sponsored by KUZZ 107. There will be an auction at 7:30pm, featuring autographed Condors and WCHL memorabilia, the stick used by Paul Willett to record his 1,000th career point and more. There will be live music and Condors celebrity karaoke as well. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children under 10 and the price includes dinner. Tickets can be purchased at the Condors office next to Centennial Garden, which is open from 8:30am-5:00pm Monday through Friday, and at Condors home games at the Claw'd's Squad table behind section 110.
Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, which is open from 10:00am-6:00pm Monday through Saturday, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
