Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs (13-12-3) were unable to get revenge for their shootout loss Monday night, falling again to the Las Vegas Wranglers (20-4-2), this time by a score of 2-1. It was the ninth consecutive win for the Wranglers, who were making their first appearance in Long Beach this season.

After a scoreless first period, Las Vegas took the lead at 2:26 of the second on a goal by Matt Dzieduszycki from Dan Tudin and Nick Anderson. Then at 7:10, the Wranglers took a 2-0 lead when Anderson scored from Tudin and Dzieduszycki.

The Ice Dogs made things interesting in the third when Chris Kenady scored at 15:17 from Derick Martin and Justin Aikins to make it a 2-1 game, though they were unable to get the equalizer in the end. The assist by Aikins extended his current point streak to eight games, the longest by an Ice Dogs player this season.

Greg Hewitt, who was just named ECHL Goalie of the Week, had a valiant effort in the loss making 22 saves. Mike McKenna got the win with 26 saves. Neither team managed a power play goal, with Long Beach going 0-4 and Las Vegas going 0-5.

The Ice Dogs and Wranglers will meet for the third straight time next Wednesday, December 28th at the Long Beach Arena. Game time is at 7pm. For more information call (562) ICE-DOGS for visit www.icedogs.com.
