Long Beach Ice Dogs News Release

LONG BEACH, Calif. – This game had all the makings of a grudge match, with the teams physically pounding each other and the Ice Dogs getting back in the win column. Long Beach (6-8-1) never trailed in the game and improved their record at home to 5-3.

Nick Ganga opened the scoring with his third goal of the season while shorthanded, midway through the first period. John McNabb made it 2-0 less than four minutes later when he notched his team leading eighth goal of the year. Ice Dogs rookie, Cameron Breitkreuz, also scored his first professional goal and added an assist on the game winner by Jerome Marois.

Bakersfield (7-8-2) made it interesting, tying the score at three just 1:33 into the third period. The powerplay goal by Paul Rosebush was his second of the game and marked the Condors second powerplay goal of the game against the leagues' number three penalty killing unit. But Marois was able to seal the win for Long Beach just three minutes later as Colin Zulianello stood strong in net stopping 31 shots.

The Ice Dogs play host to the Alaska Aces on Wednesday, one of only three teams they have lost to at home this season. It will be a McDonald's Family Wednesday, with all children 14 years and younger getting in for $1 with the purchase of an adult ticket.
