Austyn Roudebush made 41 saves and the Knoxville Ice Bears fell to the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs 5-1 at the Berglund Center in Virginia Saturday night.

The Ice Bears (26-7-3) has dropped three straight. The Rail Yard Dawgs (17-11-6) snapped a four-game skid with the win.

Jeff Jones intercepted a breakout pass at the Knoxville blue line to keep the puck in the zone. The turnover resulted in a three-on-one that ultimately ended with C.J. Stubbs scoring from the slot to give Roanoke the lead at 11:41 of the second.

Knoxville responded 20 seconds later when Jared Nash scored his fifth of the year. Brady Fleurent slipped the puck behind the net into the right corner to Anthony McVeigh. McVeigh waited in space and fed the puck right to the crease, where Nash turned it past Austyn Roudebush to tie the game.

Roanoke retook the lead with 17 seconds left in the second period when Travis Armstrong's shot from the right point bounced off of Kristian Stead, popped into the air over his shoulder and landed in the net.

Jesse Anderson provided an insurance goal for Roanoke when he finished off a three-on-two at 9:12 of the third. Mac Jansen and Billy Vizzo added late power play goals to round out the scoring.

Stead finished with 32 saves in his return from a three-week loan to the ECHL.

Knoxville will host Peoria on Thursday night at 7:35 p.m. EST. Roanoke heads to Fayetteville to take on the Marksmen on Friday.
