I\'s Win Second in a Row, Split with Lexington 5-4

Kannapolis, NC – A lot about Friday night was redemption for the Intimidators. Three days after blowing a 3-1 lead in the ninth and losing 9-3, the Kannapolis bullpen held a lead, and after four starts Grant Hansen (1-4) finally got a win besting Lexington 5-4.

The Legends got the scoring going in the top of the first when Scott Robinson drove in Jonny Ash with a ground ball to shortstop. The I's responded with a Josh Hansen RBI single in the bottom of the inning to tie it at one. Lexington scored again in the fourth on another RBI groundout. Then Francisco Caraballo's solo shot to lead off the fifth put Lexington up 3-1.

Kannapolis got two in the fifth and two unearned runs in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead. The bullpen gave one back but held on for the victory. Hansen got the win going six innings yielding six hits and three earned runs. He walked one and struck out five. Juan Gutierrez took the loss allowing two unearned runs in the sixth inning. Matt Zaleski came on in the ninth to get his third save of the year.

The Intimidators now hit the road for eight games starting with a four game series in Hagerstown tomorrow night. Kannapolis returns home on the 9th of May to take on Lakewood. All Intimidators games can be heard on www.intimidatorsbaseball.com.
