Hagerstown Suns News Release
Eastlake, Ohio:Hagerstown lost 2-1 on Friday night at Lake County to drop it's first series of the season three games to one. The Suns were 3-13 in 16 games against Lake County (13-8) in both 2003 and 2004, and still have not solved their Northern Division rivals in 2005.
On a night that the Suns didn't have a hit until the sixth inning, they still managed to tie the game at 1-1 in the seventh on an unearned run. It was Ambiorix Concepcion reaching second on an error, then delay stealing third. The reliever Scott Roehl threw wildly to third and that allowed Concepcion to scamper home and tie the score. However, in the bottom of the eighth Marcelo Perez (0-2) walked in the winning run.
Grant Psomas extended his current hit streak to 12 straight games with a single in the ninth, and also has reached base safely in all 22 games he has played this year. Dante Brinkley also extended his on base streak to 20 games in a losing cause.
Hagerstown (15-7) starts a four game homestand at 6:35pm on Saturday against the Kannapolis Intimidators on Hagerstown Hub Memo Pad and Scout Night. Call 301-791-6266 for tickets.
