
I-Cubs hit four homers in win over 'Winders

The Iowa cubs connected for four home runs Wednesday night on the way to a 9-2 win over Tucson at Sec Taylor Stadium. Brendan Harris led the charge with a pair of solo shots including a homer to start the scoring in the first inning off Brandon Lyon.
The Cubs quickly extended the lead against Michael Gosling scoring twice in the second inning and three more in the third. David Kelton accounted for the second inning tallies with two-run homer off the scoreboard.
Bill Selby and David Kelton produced run scoring singles in the third.
The Sidewinders got on the board in the fifth inning when Corey Myers slammed a solo home run, his second in as many games. Tucson added another run in the sixth inning when Josh Kroeger's sacrifice fly plated Andy Green who had singled.
Harris homered again in the seventh inning and Gookie Dawkins slammed a two-run, pinch hit homer in the eighth off newcomer Jose Silva to complete the scoring.
Lyon suffered the loss allowing the one run in his one inning rehab appearance.
Tucson dropped to 51-53 on the season. The Sidewinders and Cubs play game three of the series Thursday night at 5:10 p.m. (Tucson time). Matt Henrie (0-2 7.79) will start for Tucson against Iowa's Kevin McGlinchy (0-0 0.00). The game will be TAPE DELAYED on Cool 1450 AM AT 7:00 P.M.
