Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release
After blanking the Iowa Cubs (43-38) on Saturday, the Sky Sox (35-48) were on the flipside of the shutout as the I-Cubs rode a strong starting outing from LHP Tsuyoshi Wada to a 2-0 victory Sunday afternoon. With the win, the I-Cubs finished won 11 of 16 games against the Sky Sox this season.
The game was scoreless and produced little offense throughout the first four frames before an RBI-single from catcher Eli Whiteside scored Ryan Kalish from second to break the tie and give them the one-run advantage. Top prospect Javy Baez tacked on an insurance run in the eighth inning with his double that scored Matt Szczur from first.
The Sky Sox almost struck back with in the bottom of the eighth when Rafael Ynoa led off the frame with a single to right. Nolan Arenado and Ben Paulsen hit back-to-back deep fly balls to center field but the strong wind was able to hold both balls within the confines of Security Service Field.

Despite the loss, the Sky Sox got a quality start from LHP Brian Burres. In his best start since being signed by Colorado, Burres allowed only one run on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks.
LHP Boone Logan made his second appearance of his rehab assignment and tossed a scoreless seventh inning. In the second game of his rehab assignment, Arenado went 0-for-4 at the plate, but did flash the leather at third with an amazing diving stop to save a run, as well as a sharp pick and started a double play.
