MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Sunday evening's doubleheader between the Memphis Redbirds and Round Rock Express has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions as a result of the continued effects from record-setting rainfalls last night and this morning in the Mid-South.

"We received record rainfall in downtown Memphis and the warning track was unplayable," said Redbirds General Manager Craig Unger. "We had water pooling in left field as a result of a leak behind the retaining wall, and the safety of our players is a top priority."

The final two games of the series will be made up during the Redbirds' next visit to the Dell Diamond in Round Rock from August 2-6.

Tickets from tonight's rainout can be exchanged at the box office for any future 2014 regular season contest, excluding July 4.

After a four-game series against cross-state rival Nashville beginning tomorrow, the Redbirds return home to the Bluff City on Independence Day to square off against the New Orleans Zephyrs (Triple-A Marlins) and Nashville Sounds (Triple-A Brewers) in a seven-game homestand.

Ticket packages are currently on sale. Please call (901) 722-0299 or visit the Redbirds website at www.memphisredbirds.com to order or for more information.
