Memphis Hustle News Release

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle snapped a four-game losing streak with a 114-112 win over the Agua Caliente Clippers Monday night at Landers Center. The Hustle improved to 18-16 and earned its second win of the season in as many tries over Agua Caliente. The Hustle and Clippers played through 20 lead changes and 14 ties total throughout the night.

Tyler Harvey followed up his 58-point performance on Saturday with 27 points, six assists and three steals on 11-of-19 shooting tonight. Tarik Phillip approached a triple-double (13 points, nine rebounds, eight assists) for the second straight game. In his last two games, Phillip has averaged 15.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 9.0 assists. Doral Moore and Kyle Casey dropped in 17 points apiece. Moore's total ties his season-high and Casey also added in nine rebounds.

Angel Delgado had a big night in the paint for Agua Caliente, posting 19 points to go with a game-high 19 rebounds. Jamel Artis and Desi Rodriguez contributed 17 points apiece, with Rodriguez doing so off the bench.

The Hustle earned a sizable lead in the first quarter after a 12-2 run over a stretch of 3:08 gave them a 28-15 lead with 2:19 remaining. However, the Clippers closed the quarter on a 12-0 run of their own to bring the game within one. The game stayed tight through the second and third quarters, which saw a one-possession game the majority of the time, and the teams entered the final period tied at 88-88.

Memphis opened the final period on a 6-0 run and would lead by as many as 7 (109-102) with 4:10 remaining but the Clippers wouldn't go quietly. The Hustle led 114-112 on the game's final possession, but Moore got a hand on Rodriguez's layup attempt, sealing the deal for the Hustle as time expired.

The Hustle shot above 50 percent (.543) for the ninth time this season and improved to 7-2 when doing so. Additionally, Memphis capitalized on Clipper's mistakes, owning a 23-11 advantage in points off turnovers despite committing just two less.

The Hustle return to Landers Center on Friday, February 8 at 7 p.m. to take on the Northern Arizona Suns. Tickets are still available starting at $10 each and fans wishing to attend can purchase tickets at ticketmaster.com, the Landers Center Box Office, online at MemphisHustle.com or by calling (901) 888-HOOP.
