
Hustle Rout Austin Spurs 132-86 for Second Straight Win

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle won its second straight game, earning the largest margin of victory in franchise history with a 132-86 win over the defending NBA G League champion Austin Spurs Sunday at Landers Center.
The Hustle were all over Austin from the opening tip, jumping out to an 11-0 lead before leading by 22 at the end of the first quarter and by as many as 31 in the first half. The Memphis defense kept Austin to just 11-of-39 (.282) from the field and 1-of-13 (.077) from three-point range. Dating back to Friday's game against Rio Grande Valley, the Hustle allowed just 76 points in the previous four quarters to that point. The Hustle continued to pour it on in the second half, leading by as many as 53 and scoring 43 points in the third quarter.
Memphis shot 96.3 percent (26-27 FT) from the free throw line and have connected on 54-of-59 (.915) over the team's last two games. Additionally, they prevented the Spurs from moving the ball effectively, holding Austin to just 10 assists, marking a franchise low for any Hustle opponent. The Hustle also outscored the Spurs 29-4 in fastbreak situations and 25-12 in points off turnovers.
Seven Hustle players scored in double figures, including four off the bench, with two more players (D.J. Stephens, Markel Crawford) adding nine points. Grizzlies assignee Jevon Carter led the way with 19 points to go with four assists and three rebounds. Brandon Goodwin was close behind with 17 points. Tanner McGrew had 15 points to go with seven rebounds. Tyler Harvey had 14 points off the bench. Kyle Casey (13 points) and Tarik Phillip (12 points) also scored in double figures. Two-way player Yuta Watanabe (11 points, 5-7 FG) had another efficient night and grabbed six rebounds.
Jaron Blossomgame and Amidah Brimah led the Spurs with 14 points apiece. Two-way player Drew Eubanks and DeJuan Blair each posted 12 points. Jeff Ledbetter (10 points) all reached double digits.
The Hustle continue its six-game homestand with a Wednesday night showdown against the Windy City Bulls at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14.
