Oklahoma City Blue News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Blue (4-0) defeated the Texas Legends (2-2), 121-103, in a Sunday matinee.
Oklahoma City was quick to grab the lead from the tip and maintained the advantage throughout the entirety of the game, the largest gap being 21 points in the fourth quarter. With just under four minutes to go in the third, K.J. McDaniels hit a three-point jumper to put the Blue up 83-72, giving the home team a double-digit lead they would not surrender for the remainder of the game.
"I was pleased with our effort," said Head Coach Mark Daigneault. "I thought we had a great carry over from Friday night's game. We came in and watched film yesterday, and then watched a little more film this morning and I thought the guys did a great job of executing the things we tried to point out and the game plan. I thought it showed with how we played."
Six Oklahoma City players scored in double figures with Thunder assignment player Abdel Nader leading the way as he finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Two-way player Deonte Burton was close behind with 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and five steals, while fellow two-way player Tyler Davis added a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds.
McDaniels matched Davis' scoring efforts from the bench as he finished with 16 points, five rebounds, two assists and four blocks.
Jameel Warney led the Legends, recording 18 points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Blue will be back inside Cox Convention Center on Thursday, Nov. 15, taking on the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7 p.m. to begin the first back-to-back of the season.
