Duluth Huskies News Release

After a dominating performance on Monday, the Duluth Huskies looked to complete the sweep against the Rochester Honkers. Hunter Bigge (Harvard) started for the Duluth Huskies, his counterpart on the other side was Zak Deverman (Illinois).

The Huskies scored early in the third inning with back-to-back fielder's choices hit off the bats of Nick Sogard (Loyola Marymount) and Sean Watkins (Cal State LA).

The Huskies scored again in the fifth without the benefit of a hit. Watkins would bounce into another fielder's choice scoring Tony Monroy (Georgetown College). Later in the inning Chris Gilbody (Georgetown College) would force an error to bring in Augie Isaacson (Friends University). Then, Carlos Moseley's (Cumberland University) first Northwoods League hit was a three-run home run to left center field that scored Monroy and Isaacson.

The Honkers tried to rally in the late innings, scoring a run in the eighth inning and adding another run on a bases loaded walk.

The Honkers rally fell short as they lost to the Huskies 10-4. Bigge picks up the win, his fourth of the year.

The Huskies will be in action tomorrow as they take on the Willmar Stingers in double header action. The first game starts at 1:05, and the second game is set to start at 7:05. Tune into 92.1 The Fan to listen to the action.
