Waterloo Bucks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - The Waterloo Bucks are proud to announce the launch of the 'Step Up To the Plates' community program this summer. The Bucks are partnering with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank in collecting produce and packaged goods from the College Hill Farmers Market, Cedar Falls Farmers Market, and Waterloo Urban Farmers Market.
"As part of the ballclub's Our Buck community initiative, the Waterloo Bucks are excited to begin the 'Step Up To the Plates' program," said Bucks assistant general manager Ben Knaack. "The partnership with the Northeast Iowa Food Bank has been fantastic through training, communication, and all the efforts to provide families in need with fresh produce from farmers right here in the Cedar Valley."
Bucks staff have been and will be attending the College Hill Farmers Market in Cedar Falls on July 12th and 26th, and both Cedar Falls Farmers Market and Waterloo Urban Farmers Market on July 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, and on August 4th and 11th. Keep an eye out for staff and players as they collect food throughout the summer for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. For more information about the 'Step Up To the Plates' program contact Ben Knaack at (319) 232-0500 x4 or ben@waterloobucks.com.
All Bucks home games are played at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium where the team welcomed a new state of the art video board in 2016 thanks to a matching grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association. Team ownership has invested more than $170,000 in improvements since the end of the 2014 season including painted bleachers, public Wi-Fi, sound system, group outing areas, kids zone inflatables, and concessions equipment. Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com or utilizing the Northwoods League Mobile App. Tickets are now on sale by calling the Bucks' Ticket Line at 319-232-5633.
