Madison, Wis. - The Madison Mallards (13-10, 41-18) take on the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (12-11, 33-25) tonight at 7:05 PM at Warner Park. Tonight's game features the Brew Pub Pizza sublimated pizza shirsey giveaway and gates open at 5:30 PM. Also, hot dogs will be sold at the Duck Pond's concessions stands for just 25 cents during tonight's game.

After cruising to a 14-2 win over the Dock Spiders last night, the Mallards will go for a series sweep and their third straight win tonight. The Mallards have won 11 of their last 13 games and hold a 4.0 game lead over the Kalamazoo Growlers in the overall standings in the South Division this season. Madison holds a 4-1 record in games against Fond du Lac this summer and have allowed only seven earned runs between those five ballgames.

Probable Pitchers

The Mallards plan to send Texas A&M lefty Dustin Saenz to the mound tonight to take on the Dock Spiders. Saenz holds a 1-1 record and a 3.56 ERA through four starts and 17.2 innings this summer. Saenz lasted 5.0 innings and struck out six while allowing only one run in his last start. Saenz has yet to face the Dock Spiders this season.

Jon Mierzwa will pitch for Fond du Lac tonight. Mierzwa is 0-4 this summer and owns a 4.90 ERA through 36.2 innings. Mierzwa held the Mallards to just one run through 5.1 innings on July 21 in Madison. Mierzwa has totaled 37 strikeouts while walking only 14 this season.

Players to Watch

First baseman David Vinsky (Northwood) collected three hits last night and drew two walks, reaching in all five of his plate appearances. Vinsky has a nine-game hitting streak and has raised his average to .306 this summer. Vinsky also knocked in three runs in last night's win and has now has a total of 41 RBI.

InfielderJustice Bigbie (Western Carolina) has been a force at the plate lately, collecting a total of eight hits and three doubles over his last three games. Bigbie totaled four knocks last night and totaled three RBIs. Bigbie has raised his average from .235 to .299 over the last four games.
