Hurricanes Sign Kash Andresen
June 9, 2022 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Lethbridge Hurricanes News Release
LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Thursday they have signed 2007-born forward Kash Andresen to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
Andresen, 15, was selected by the Hurricanes in the second round (33rd overall) in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. The product of Saskatoon, SK appeared in 31 games with the Saskatoon Bandits U15 AA club totaling 57 points (25g-32a) with 50 penalty minutes, finishing first in team scoring during the regular season.
"We were really happy to get Andresen where we did," said Hurricanes Head Scout Rob MacLachlan at the draft. "We had him projected to go higher in the draft. He's a good, two-way centerman that plays a 200-foot game and can score."
The 5'10, 140-pound forward added another 15 points (7g-8a) with 16 penalty minutes in nine post-season games with the Bandits. Andresen is the young brother of Medicine Hat Tigers defenseman Reid Andresen.
Andresen joins fellow 2022 draftees Will Sharpe and Koen Cleaver to have already signed with the Hurricanes.
