Brandon, MB. - The Brandon Wheat Kings closed out their 6-game Western Hockey League home stand Friday night with a disappointing 8-4 loss to the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The loss was Brandon's third in a row and the Wheat Kings have now gone 2-3-0-1 since returning from their season high 7-game road trip.

Dylan Cozens scored three times and set up two others for the Hurricanes, who scored five powerplay goals.

Ty Kolle added a pair while singles came off the sticks of Jake Elmer, Jordy Bellerive and Zach Cox.

Stelio Mattheos scored twice in a losing cause for the Wheat Kings, who trailed 3-1 and 5-2 at the period breaks.

Connor Gutenberg and rookie Ridly Greig rounded out the scoring for the Wheat Kings, who took the ice Friday night wearing special Agriculture theme jerseys. The jerseys were auctioned off through the first two periods and raised over $12,000 for 4-H Manitoba.

Carl Tetachuk turned aside 30 Brandon shots for the win while Jiri Patera was pulled after twenty minutes, after surrendering three goals on 16 shots.

The Wheat Kings don't play again until Wednesday night when they travel to Swift Current to meet the Broncos.

Brandon's next home game is Friday night when the Regina Pats pay their first visit of the season to Westoba Place.

Tickets to Friday's game - presented by Assiniboine Community College - go back on sale at 10am Saturday at the Keystone Centre box office.
