Hunter out with Injury for Remaining Two Games

Fort Wayne, IN (April 8, 2009)- Mad Ants All-Star center Chris Hunter will miss the final two games of the Mad Ants season against the Erie BayHawks due to a fracture in his right foot. Hunter injured his foot in the final moments of the Mad Ants victory against the Tulsa 66ers this past Sunday, April 5. Hunter will be in a protective boot for the next four to six weeks.

This has been a breakout season for the 6'11 Gary, Indiana native. Hunter finishes his season the Mad Ants leader in both scoring (19.3 points per game) and rebounding (9.4 rebounds per game) and is in the top ten in four different NBA D-League offensive categories (points per game, rebounds per game, field goals made, and blocked shots). Chris has been honored for this fantastic season by being named an All-Star this past February and most recently by being named to the second team All NBA D-League team, an honor bestowed upon him by coaches around the league.

The Mad Ants will look to play spoiler without Hunter to the Erie BayHawks - a team fighting for one of the last remaining playoff spots - in the team's final two games. The Mad Ants play their home finale this Friday, April 10, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum at 7:30 pm. The Ants travel to Erie for a game the next night to close out the season against the BayHawks.
