IDAHO'S BRENT PETWAY NAMED NBA D-LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Idaho Stampede forward Brent Petway has been selected as the NBA Development League's Defensive Player of the Year by a vote of the League's 16 head coaches. Petway, the lone Stampede player to appear in all 45 games (all starts), ranks second in the league in blocks (2.1 bpg). Petway has tallied at least two blocks in 23 games and four or more blocks on eight occasions
COLORADO'S EDDIE GILL EARNS NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE IMPACT PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Colorado 14ers guard Eddie Gill was named as the NBA Development League Impact Player of the Year as voted on by the NBA D-League's 16 head coaches. Given to a player who joins an NBA D-League team following the start of the season, the Impact Player of the Year award honors an athlete who made the greatest contribution following his in-season acquisition. Brandon Williams, Director of Basketball Operations, will present Gill the award on April 8 when Colorado hosts the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in their final regular season home game of the 2008-09 season at Broomfield Event Center.

TUESDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Tuesday's games:
Rod Benson scored 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds and the Reno Bighorns defeated the Austin Toros 124-118. Other players scoring in double figures for Reno included 26 points from Richie Frahm and 23 points from David Noel.
Spurs assignee Malik Hairston finished with a game-high 31 points and seven rebounds. DeMarcus Nelson added 25 points while Eric Dawson and Stanley Burrell each contributed 18 for the Toros. Center Dwayne Jones finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds.
Trey Gilder and Billy Thomas combined for 59 points, leading the Colorado to a 129-121 win over Albuquerque. Gilder notched 32 and Thomas scored 27. Josh Davis added 18 points and 12 rebounds, while John Lucas poured in 18 off the bench.
The Thunderbirds were led by 31 points from Will Conroy. Antoine Agudio added 21 off the bench, while Mark Walters, Jasper Johnson, and Mouhamed Sene all posted double-doubles.
Dwayne Mitchell and Mickael Gelabale scored 27 points apiece to lead the D-Fenders. Ryan Forehand-Kelly and Brandon Heath chipped in 13 points each, while Darren Cooper and Earl Barron knocked down 12 points each.
Utah Jazz assignee Morris Almond's 26 points led the Flash. Ronald Dupree had a double-double for the Flash with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Boston Celtics assignee J.R. Giddens also doubled-up with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Jazz assignee Kosta Koufos chipped in 18 points, and Kevin Kruger added 11.
ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:
21 players with D-League experience competed in eight NBA games last night, three as starters.
Philadelphia's Louis Williams scored 20 points off the bench for the 76ers.
As a starter for Orlando, Rafer Alston tallied 15 points, six rebounds and three assists.
