Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Albuquerque Isotopes fans hungry for hot dogs flocked to Isotopes Park to take advantage of the team's popular 50-cent Hot Dog Night promotion, as a crowd of 10,128, the second largest attendance for a non-holiday Monday in team history, devoured 24,268 of the ballpark delicacies tonight.

The throng showed up early and with an appetite for what has become a consistent fan favorite at Isotopes Park.

Members of Ovations Food Service's catering staff worked feverishly throughout the late afternoon to roll the fresh cooked dogs and buns in wrappers in time for tonight's game.

"It's just not a baseball game without a hot dog and it's always fun to see people loaded up with five or six dogs at a time," said Ovations General Manager Jay Satenspiel. "I scarfed down three or four myself before the gates opened, but I don't think that counts toward the total."

The 'Topes will hold another 50-cent Hot Dog night on June 9 when the team welcomes the Round Rock Express to The Lab.

Albuquerque will put the finishing touches on a short, four-game homestand by hosting its second Business Person's Special of the season tomorrow with $5 haircuts courtesy Supercuts and $3 shoe shines courtesy Model Shine Parlor, with all proceeds benefiting Joy Junction. Tickets can be purchased at Isotopes Park or any Ticketmaster outlet, www.ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster by phone 505-883-7800.
