Sidewinders Lose in Extras to Fresno 5-4

Tucson, AZ - The Sidewinders fell to the Grizzlies 5-4 in 11 innings at Tucson Electric Park on Monday night.

Fresno scored the first run of the game coming in the third off an Ivan Ochoa triple. The Sidewinders came back and tied it in the third with a triple of their own by Trent Oeltjen and an RBI groundout for Emilio Bonifacio.

Fresno regained the lead in the fifth inning added one more in the sixth from a Patrick Misch RBI double and a Jake Wald RBI single, making it 4-2.

Tucson tied it again in the sixth inning when Jamie D'Antona hit his sixth double of the season.

Fresno and Tucson both put up one run in the seventh inning and both teams did not allow a run until the eleventh inning. With runners at first and third and two outs, Chris Kinsey induced a ground ball to second that Bonifacio threw away allowing Fresno the go ahead run take the game 5-4

Tucson's center fielder Trent Oeltjen went 3-for-4 with a triple and scored two of the Sidewinder's runs.

The Sidewinders will face the Fresno Grizzles in Tucson starting at 10:00 AM on Tuesday morning. RHP Max Scherzer (0-0, 0.00) is scheduled to start for Tucson. Right-hander Victor Santos (1-0, 4.70) will start for the Grizzles. The game will air live on COOL 1450 beginning at 9:50 a.m.
