
Human Cannonball, Pair of Fireworks Shows on Deck for Spikes Fans

(STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) - The State College Spikes return home to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for four home games in five nights from Friday, June 29 to Tuesday, July 3, with a jam-packed slate for fans. Highlights include two post-game FIREWORKS shows, as well as the return of the Human Cannonball for a post-game blast-off on July 3.
Fans can also declare their independence from the forecasted heat with bottles of Aquafina water available for just $1 each at all four games from Friday through Tuesday as part of the $1 Aquafina Bottled Water Holiday Special.
The homestand begins Friday night as the skies over Happy Valley light up with a fantastic FIREWORKS display after the Spikes face the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies) at 7:05 p.m. Fans can also get in on the fun early as the first 1,000 fans of all ages receive a Travel Mug Giveaway. Gates will open to the public at 6 p.m.
"The Bullet" David Smith, Jr. then finishes the homestand as he makes his way back to State College on Tuesday, July 3 to fly through the air as the record-setting Human Cannonball. Smith's blast-off after the game will be presented by Boyles Insurance and HAPPY 103. Tuesday will also feature another Spike-tacular post-game FIREWORKS show, presented by the PA Lottery, and will give fans the chance to salute our local heroes on First Responders Appreciation Night, presented by the Centre Daily Times.
Spikes fans can also start the month of July right at on Sunday with Bark in the Park II, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital and NEWSRADIO 1390 WRSC, at the 6:05 p.m. game against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Cleveland Indians).
The night will include several dog-related promotions and activities throughout the evening, including dog-themed in-game entertainment and music before and during the game. For a complete list of Bark in the Park Night rules and policies, fans can log on to StateCollegeSpikes.com.
The homestand also offers a slate chock full of Daily Fan Value Promotions. Friday's game marks the first 4 for $44 Friday of the year, presented by MAJIC 99. Fans can purchase four Diamond Club or Field Box seats, four hot dogs, and four small sodas for just $44 - a value of $85. Additional packages are available for just $11 apiece.
The fun continues with a Sunday Kids Day, presented by First National Bank, with a pre-game catch on the field from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m., and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game. Plus, the first 250 kids 12 and under eat and play free thanks to Dairy Queen Grill and Chill.
Fans can then enjoy a Monday Buck Night, presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ, on July 2. Outfield Bleacher seats, hot dogs, small sodas and peanut boats will all be available for just $1 each.
The homestand finishes with a $2 Walking Taco Tuesday, presented by B94.5, to go with the Human Cannonball's blast-off and FIREWORKS.
Tickets for all four games from Friday to Tuesday, as well as the 2018 New York-Penn League All-Star Game presented by the Central PA Convention & Visitors Bureau and every game on the 2018 Spikes home schedule, are currently on sale through the Spikes Ticket Office.
Fans can also purchase tickets for the 2018 NYPL All-Star Tailgate Gala presented by Reinhart Foodservice. The All-Star Tailgate Gala will present the chance to meet and greet local legends and NYPL All-Stars under the lights at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Monday, August 13.
The event will also take a Happy Valley specialty and kick it up a notch, with plenty of games, musical entertainment and delicious food, including several carving stations from Reinhart Foodservice serving up prime tailgating fare. Complimentary Coors Light will also available all night long, and attendees will have the chance to sample Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey in unique fashion at a dedicated location within the park.
Tickets for the once in a lifetime experience of the All-Star Tailgate Gala are available for $50 each at the Spikes Ticket Office.
To purchase tickets, fans can call (814) 272-1711 or visit the Ticket Office in person. Ticket Office hours are 9 a.m. to the end of the game on game days Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to the end of the game on game days Saturday and Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on non-game days Monday through Friday.
