BROOKLYN, NY - The Hudson Valley Renegades got the last laugh in a back-and-forth contest to beat the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, 4-3 Tuesday night at Maimonides Park in the series opener.
BIG MOMENTS
Pablo Olivares popped a two-out RBI double in the top of the ninth inning against Andrew Edwards to break the tie and give the Renegades a 4-3 advantage.
Joe Genord's two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh gave Brooklyn a 3-2 lead, erasing a 2-1 deficit at the time*. *
Brooklyn starter Jose Butto turned in a solid outing but a no-decision, allowing a two-run home run to Kyle McDonald in the top of the sixth. It was the righty's only mistake, allowing just one other hit and a walk with three strikeouts outside of the homer.

NEWS AND NOTES
The Brooklyn Cyclones played their first-ever home game as a High-A affiliate and their first game under the new name Maimonides Park.
Ronny Mauricio extended his hitting streak to 10 games and Brett Baty reached twice to push his on-base streak to 10 to begin the season.
With the two-run home run allowed by Jose Butto, Cyclones starters have allowed a league-leading 12 long balls in High-A baseball.
