Houston Dynamo Forwards Alberth Elis and Memo Rodriguez Named to MLS Team of the Week

March 18, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS) - Houston Dynamo News Release

HOUSTON - Houston Dynamo forwards Alberth Elis and Memo Rodriguez were named to the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi, the league announced earlier today.

Elis scored his first goal of the season in Houston's 3-2 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC last Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium. The Honduran international also tallied two assists as Houston finished with back-to-back league victories prior to the first in-season FIFA window.

Rodriguez earned mention in Week 3 with a spot on the bench after he scored his first professional brace last Saturday and set a new career high for goals scored in a season with three. The Dynamo Academy product also scored in Houston's 2-1 victory over Montreal on March 9, and his goal earned MLS Goal of the Week honors.

The Dynamo will return to Houston Sports Park at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19 to prepare for their first league road trip of the regular season. The Dynamo are 2-0-1 on the young season and will return to MLS action on March 30 at Colorado. They will be back home on Saturday, April 13 against the San Jose Earthquakes for Kids Day at BBVA Compass Stadium. Tickets for that match start at $24 and may be purchased online at HoustonDynamo.com, by phone at 713-276-4625 (GOAL) or at the stadium box office.
