Hounds to Face Hartford Athletic in 2019 Home Opener

PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will commence its 2019 home schedule against Hartford Athletic on April 13 at Highmark Stadium, announced today by the USL Championship. Kickoff time is to be determined at a later date.
With the Hounds scheduled to battle Hartford on April 13, it will mark the sixth-year anniversary of the club's first-ever game at Highmark Stadium. On April 13, 2013, Pittsburgh lost 2-1 against the then-known-as Harrisburg City Islanders (Penn FC) during the team's inaugural match at the venue.
Currently, Pittsburgh is on a run of tying two straight games in its home openers. The squad drew against New York Red Bulls II, 3-3, in 2017 and tied Penn FC, 0-0, in 2018.
The Hounds have never played Hartford, which joins the USL Championship as an expansion team for the 2019 campaign.
Also announced today, the Hounds will battle the Tampa Bay Rowdies in their home opener on March 16 and the Swope Park Rangers in their home opener on March 23. The full 2019 regular season schedule will be released at a future date.
