Hounds fall to Blazers 3-2

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds fell to the Oklahoma City Blazers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday night. It was the Blazers first ever win at the Chevrolet Centre. Of the five goals scored, only the final goal came at even strength.

The Blazers opened the scoring as Garrett Prosofsky scored his first of two power play goals at 9:35 of the first period to make it 1-0. The Hounds answered 1:22 later as Mark Odut scored a shorthanded goal to tie the game. Youngstown took the lead as Kevin Jarman extended his point streak to eight games with a power play goal at 16:00 to make it 2-1 after 20 minutes of play.

In the second period Garrett Prosofsky scored at 4:59 to make it 2-2 after two periods. The Blazers were 2-6 on the power play while Youngstown was 1-5.

In the third period Dallas Flaman scored at 4:41 to put the Blazers up 3-2. Sean Connors did the rest as he made 42 saves on 44 shots to preserve the victory for Oklahoma City.

The Hounds drop to 28-17-3 (59 points) but remain tied with Colorado for third place in the Northern Conference standings. The Hounds and Blazers finish the series on Sunday at 4:05. All SteelHounds games are available on ESPN Radio 1240 and SteelHounds.com.
