Hot-Shooting Red Claws Roll Past Swarm

Greensboro, NC - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, started the game shooting hot and never let up, easily taking down the Greensboro Swarm Thursday night, 121-98.
Maine (12-21) was led by a two-headed attack of P.J. Dozier and Justin Bibbs. Dozier, who just re-joined the Red Claws after spending the last game in Boston on his Two-Way Contract, led all scorers with 29 points and 13 assists. Bibbs scored 25 points, including 7-11 from three-point range. Archie Goodwin led the bench with 20 points, while Andrew White added 18. John Bohannon recorded a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds. Maine shot 52% (43-83) from the field and 46% (19-41) from three-point range.
Greensboro (17-17) was led by Cat Barber with 23 points off the bench.
The Red Claws and Swarm traded leads early and often. Bohannon put in a close-range lay-up to give Maine an 11-10 lead. Bibbs knocked in back-to-back threes to give the Claws a 5 point lead. The Swarm would answer, cutting it to 1 with a Joe Chealey lay-up, but White's three put Maine up 25-21. Goodwin's and-one lay-up put the lead up to 7, and Bibbs buried his 4th three of the 1st quarter, giving Maine a 37-27 lead after 1. The scoring output was the most in a quarter by the Red Claws this season.
The Swarm crawled back in the 2nd quarter - Jaylen Barford's three-point play cut it to 40-36, and gave Hunter 3 fouls. Dozier buried a corner three, then assisted Sheldon Jeter on a lay-up to push the lead to 11. Jeff Roberson added a pair of treys, and Goodwin's three made it 58-40 Red Claws halfway through the period. Dozier followed that up with another three. Dozier and Bibbs each scored 17 points in the first half, shooting a combined 13-20 from the floor. Maine led 69-53 at the break, shooting an impressive 56% (25-45) from the field and 62% (13-21) from three-point range.
The Red Claws picked up right where they left off in the 2nd half, with White dropping in a three-ball. Bibbs' 6th three gave him 20 points and a 20 point lead for Maine at 75-55. Goodwin's three-point play ballooned the lead to 25. Greensboro would chip away at the deficit, but Bibbs and the Red Claws had an answer almost every time. By the end of the 3rd, Greensboro had cut into the drought, but Maine still led 89-73 after 3.
White opened the 4th quarter with a corner three, and Goodwin's reverse lay-in made it 94-75 Maine. The Claws got it back to 20 before Cat Barber buried a three. White answered with a three of his own, making it 103-83.Dozier continued to score at will, as Maine was able to maintain that lead. Dozier's emphatic slam gave the Red Claws a 112-93 lead with 4:00 to go. Goodwin's dunk put the game away for good.
Maine shot 52% (43-83) from the field and 46% (19-41) from three-point range, while going 16-22 from the free throw line. The Red Claws had 29 assists in the game, a season high. Greensboro shot 40% (36-91) from the floor, 25% (9-36) from beyond the arc, and 17-22 from the charity stripe.
