Hot Rods, Whitecaps Postponed Due to Snow

April 17, 2018 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The Bowling Green Hot Rods and West Michigan Whitecaps series opener tonight at Fifth Third Ballpark has been postponed due to frigid temperatures, freezing rain, and snow on the ground.

The two teams will play a double header tomorrow, beginning at 11:00am Central time. Both games will be seven innings.

The Hot Rods have never played back-to-back double headers, but after Sunday's double header against Fort Wayne, are scheduled to do so.

Also, this is the earliest in team history that the Hot Rods have had their second double header in a season. The previous mark was in 2009, the club's inaugural season, when they played their second double header on April 20th.

The Hot Rods will send LHP Resly Linares (0-0, 17.18) to the mound in game one, while the Whitecaps will counter with RHP Garett King (0-0, 4.15). In game two, RHP Drew Strotman (0-0, 5.59) will go for Bowling Green, while RHP Elvin Rodriguez (0-0, 4.15) will go for West Michigan.
