Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the South Bend Cubs (affiliate of the Chicago Cubs) in the first game of a three-game series.

Make-Up Dates: Because of postponements of all three games at the Great Lakes Loons Friday through Sunday, make-up doubleheaders will be scheduled when the Loons visit Dayton May 18-20. Additions to the home schedule will be announced at a later date.

Series to Date/Streaks: This is the first meeting of the year between the Dragons and Cubs. Overall, the Dragons have won five straight games. South Bend has also won five straight games.

Last Game: The Dragons were postponed Friday through Sunday at Great Lakes. The Dragons have not played since Thursday.

Team Notes

Thursday, the Dragons completed their first four-game series sweep since June 30-July 3, 2017 when they swept Fort Wayne at Fifth Third Field.

The Dragons have won five straight games. They have outscored their opponents 30-17 in the four wins after being outscored 24-10 in their first three games of the season.

The Dragons are tied for second in the Midwest League in extra base hits with 27 (18 doubles, two triples, seven home runs).

The Dragons have scored 19 runs over their last two games. Over the first six games of the season, they did not score more than four runs in any game, scoring a total of 21. The Dragons team slugging percentage in the four games vs. Lake County was .493.

Dragons relievers have not allowed an earned run in the last five games covering 20.0 innings.

2018 Individual Notes

Hendrik Clementina is batting .500 on the year, going 8 for 16 with 2 HR and 3 doubles. His slugging percentage is 1.063 with an OPS of 1.592. He is tied for fifth in the league in extra base hits and is eighth in total bases despite playing in only four games.

Narciso Crook over his last two games: 5 for 8, 1 HR, 2 2B, 1 3B, 6 RBI.

Miles Gordon leads the league in runs scored with 10. Stuart Fairchild is fifth in total bases with 18.

Hendrik Clementina and John Sansone both bring four-game hitting streaks into this series.

Reliever Ryan Nutof has not allowed a run in four relief appearances covering 6.1 innings. He has allowed just two hits, no walks, with 10 strikeouts.

Injury Notes: Dragons OF Andy Sugilio suffered a strained right hamstring on April 6 and is expected to miss 3-6 weeks from the day of the injury.
